When Jimmy Kimmel stepped on stage to present Best Documentary Short he made a joke contrasting serious films with lighter fare, quipping there are documentaries “where you walk around the White House trying on shoes.” The quip drew big laughs from the Hollywood audience.

Kelly's Furious Response

On her March 16 SiriusXM show Megyn Kelly called the telecast “disgusting,” saying Kimmel “had to get up there and couldn't just do the introduction” and instead took “snipes” at the first lady and the president. She added he’s “incapable of even complimenting the first lady” and accused him of never passing up an anti-Trump joke. Kelly also defended Melania’s documentary, saying it has done very well and “pulled in tens of millions.”
